A production assistant, or a PA, works on a film set under the supervision of the production manager. A PA’s responsibilities vary widely depending on the budget and scale of the film. They can handle general clerical and administrative tasks, print and distribute scripts, prepare and deliver daily call sheets, and assist actors and other crew members. It is considered an entry-level position in the film industry.

According to Salary.com, Production Assistants make a national average of $33,114 or $15.92 an hour (as of March 2022). In general, entry-level production assistants make around $31,729 annually, with senior-level production assistants making $34,547 a year. This wide range also depends on skill, seniority, company, and location.
