Results, Not Just Lessons
Since starting the Fashion Business Essentials course, I accepted a position at Belk as a Sales Associate Lead, where I work closely with customers to provide personalized styling advice and deliver exceptional service.
The certificate and portfolio from this course helped me land a salary increase.
I am in the process of expanding my resale business into a one-of-one custom style shop called Concrete Runway. I also just finished a two-year stint with heritage company Cockpit USA on the marketing team, and am now looking to take on clients as an agency.
Over the past year, I have learned in depth how the fashion industry currently works and the white space I can fill as an aspiring fashion sustainability professional.
I have been working as a freelance designer for almost ten years, and it felt stagnant. This program was a great stepping stone to help me and my business grow.
This course is a game-changer. In a region like Dayton, where fashion resources are scarce and gatekeeping is real, this opened doors I didn't know could open. I'm sharing it with everyone I mentor.
It gave me confidence in knowing what career in fashion to pursue, as well as confidence in my knowledge of the industry when interviewing for jobs.
If I had a friend who was interested in developing their own business, I would tell them about this course. I would want my friend to feel more confident about their career move.
Completing the Fashion Business Essentials course allowed me to obtain greater fashion industry knowledge from seasoned professionals and broadened my view of my business.
