Do I Need Prior Experience?

You need a working understanding of Autodesk Maya. If you're brand new to Maya, start with our Maya Workshop: Animation Basics first, then come back for Animation Basics.

How Is the Course Structured?

12 weeks, mentor-led: 12 pre-recorded lectures, weekly 1-hour live Q&As, and 3 animation exercises with weekly 1:1 feedback from your mentor.

What Software and Hardware Do I Need?

Autodesk Maya, plus a computer that meets the minimum requirements. The course is taught in English and is open to students 18 and older.

Who Teaches the Course?

Working studio animators from studios like Pixar, DreamWorks, Sony Pictures Imageworks, and Industrial Light & Magic. You choose your mentor after you're accepted.

How Do I Enroll?

Animation Basics is application-based. Apply at Animation Mentor, and once you're accepted you choose your mentor and register for class.
