Student Success: Jose Eduardo

As a young college student still unsure of his career goals, Jose Eduardo came across Yellowbrick’s Tourism and Hospitality Industry Essentials course on social media. Josse researched the online course more. He was moved by the instructions from professors from New York University’s Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality and experts throughout the industry. We spoke with Jose about what excited him about Tourism and Hospitality Industry Essentials and what’s next.

I wanted to learn deeply about the tourism industry from an international perspective and to get involved thoroughly in the hospitality industry. New York University is one of the best universities worldwide, so I gained a lot of helpful information about the industry.

ON CHOOSING TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY ESSENTIALS —

I immediately felt the necessity to enroll when I learned more in-depth information about Tourism and Hospitality Industry Essentials. For some time, I looked for do something that could add to my CV and complement my studies at university. I wasn’t wrong — this online course definitely fit!

I wanted to learn deeply about the tourism industry from an international perspective and to get involved thoroughly in the hospitality industry. New York University is one of the best universities worldwide, so I gained a lot of helpful information about the industry and also added some prestige to my CV.

It’s made a big difference. Actually, when I interview with or talk to members of Human Resources at hotels, they’re surprised to see that I have this certificate of completion on my resume. The experience has impacted me very positively.

ON BEING A YELLOWBRICK STUDENT —

I really enjoyed the last two modules, “Experience Management 2: Events and Food & Beverage” and “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Hospitality, Travel and Tourism.” Both courses motivated me to continue exploring my future career path within this industry.

Mentally, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Essentials prepared me a lot. It is a very complete program; the instructors are really professionals.

ON THE PAST & WHAT’S NEXT —

I still have two years left of study at university. After I graduate, I am incredibly motivated and inspired to continue with my studies in tourism and hospitality.
