ON CHOOSING SNEAKER ESSENTIALS —

I enrolled in Sneaker Essentials to expose myself to an industry I was passionate about yet knew very little about. I thought this online course was right for me because I have a really strong passion for sneakers, and I want to pursue a career in the industry.

The featured professors from the Fashion Institute of Technology had great insights. They added a lot to my experience with Sneaker Essentials. I am a huge fan of the Complex staff, specifically Matt Welty, Brendan Dunne, and Joe La Puma. I have been listening to and watching The Sneakers Podcast and Full-Size Run. Being able to hear them on this course has been an absolute pleasure.

ON BEING A YELLOWBRICK STUDENT —

I loved the Sneaker boutique assignment because I could use my style then shape an entirely new store. In addition, it forced me to think outside the box about the smaller details of my store. These components may be small, but they are crucial to the store's success.

ON REAL-LIFE APPLICATION —

I found Sneaker Essentials to be extremely eye-opening in terms of the career opportunities that are out there in the field. I would highly recommend this course. Aside from the fact that I love sneakers, I also loved and appreciated that the course was on an on-demand basis. This allowed me to pace myself and go through it at my own speed.

ON THE PAST & WHAT'S NEXT —

I am currently a student at Yeshiva University, so I have not yet had the opportunity to pursue a career in sneakers. Learning the details about why, how, when, and where sneakers are made gave me the knowledge and skills I can use towards a potential career in the industry.
